Margaret Emerson is the author of Contemplative Hiking Along the Colorado Front Range, a hiking guide with mindfulness exercises; The Mountain Paradox: Curious Stories Set In Small Town in Southwest Colorado, a collection of fiction short stories; and The Fate Between Us, a contemporary fiction novel. Her short story, The Black Egg, placed on the long list of the March/April 2023 Letter Review Awards for short stories.

When she was six years old, her parents defected from communist Poland and she grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s in Art and Graphic Design and a master’s in Ecopsychology. In her career as a copywriter for therapists, coaches and authors, she wrote hundreds of self-help and relationship advice articles.

In her own fiction writing, she uses elements from Jungian’s theory of the unconscious and pulls from her experience as a relationship advice writer to craft stories of love and longing.

She resides in a small town in southwest Colorado with her husband and tabby cat.
