A Writing Workshop for Fun and Self-Discovery
A creative and insightful workshop for anyone who loves to explore ideas and have fun. NO writing experience required! Discover something new about yourself through a series of visual or verbal prompts and short writing exercises. Ages 18+
This workshop can be a way to reveal what’s hidden in your psyche. Here’s how:
You’ll be presented with a question, a photo, or a work of art, and you’ll spend anywhere from 5-15 minutes writing something about it. What’s happening in this scene? What’s your response to this imaginary scenario? Afterwards, you’re invited to reflect on what you wrote or offer feedback on what you notice in other participants’ answers.
You’ll be amused and astounded at how patterns in your subconscious come through in your responses. You’ll get insights into the values you hold, what you long for, and where you may be stuck.
The purpose of this workshop is NOT to diagnose anyone, nor is this therapy. It's an opportunity to use your imagination and creativity and learn something about yourself.
DATE AND LOCATION TBA (Asheville, NC)
Here’s what past participants said about this workshop:
“I took Margaret creative writing course and I loved it. She attended to every detail in getting us comfortable with each other, the timing of the exercises, and the progression. Although I enjoy writing, I find that I don’t do it very much at all, so this class was sheer fun. I felt like she had helped me unearth a source of pleasure that I can and will indulge in more.” - Tracy S.
“This creative writing workshop was not only fun, it was also inspiring. The exercises were entertaining and easy to follow, and the environment was light and welcoming. This workshop was an ideal space for creating!” - Jade H.
