The Fate Between Us

It’s the late 90s. The world has yet to discover smartphones, Facebook, and Google. David Bailey is living in self-imposed exile, slinging cocktails on a beautiful island in the south Pacific and longing for the love of his life.

David doesn’t know when or even if he’ll ever see her again, but he risks emailing one more love letter to find out if her heart is still his or if she’s gone back to her husband.

The circumstances that have led him to this juncture are almost impossible to fathom. Before landing on this tropical paradise, he was living paycheck-to-paycheck at a job that was sucking the passion out of his soul, married to a woman who was battling her own demons, and trying in vain to make progress on his novel. He was stuck in a life that was far less rewarding than what he once imagined for himself.

But fate has other plans for David: He meets a woman on an internet message board who intrigues and captivates him. His wife makes a stunning proclamation and her best friend admits she has a secret crush on him. And just when things weren’t weird enough, a dangerous situation arises at the self-storage he manages that forces him into making a split-second decision; a decision that will forever change the course of his life and catapult him into an adventure of a lifetime.
